Self-Diagnosing for Dermal Fillers Over the Internet

Hi Doctor,

My name is Rachael and I have been thinking of using dermal fillers for a long time. To tell you the truth, the only thing that really holds me back from getting treatment is that every time I try to go online to do research on which filler to use, I am lost by all of the pointless information and consequently end up turning off my computer with even less knowledge and confidence than I had in getting the treatment before I turned on the computer. Does anyone know if there is any accessible way to search online which treatment could work best for you (based on where you want the treatment and how long it lasts)?

There are so many names and prices that seem to be so close in value that I never know if I am making the right choice! Please, someone, anyone, give me some insights on these dermal fillers. It would mean more than I can even explain.

Sincerely,
Confused Filler Seeker

Hey Rachael,

Thanks for taking the time to e-mail us regarding your question. We will be sure to post your question (and answer to it) in our upcoming blog so that our other patients can access this valuable information as well. As for your inquiries, I will try to answer them in the order they were received.

Now, in regards to you finding valuable injectable information online and attempting to diagnose which product would work best for you, we, and most physicians would agree, that this is nearly impossible. The ideal way to achieve the most natural looking results of dermal fillers would be to attend a one-on-one consultation with a reputable physician of your choice, like Dr. Parsa Mohebi, who has extensive experience in natural-looking injectables and review your history/expectations to determine which product is best for you. By attempting to self-diagnose online, you subject yourself to unhealthy, unnatural results that could occur when telling a physician what you expect to receive, rather than asking his/her professional opinion first.

If however you are interested in knowing only the basic information about each dermal filler (i.e.- what it is made of, what it is used for, the average number of treatments needed, how long it lasts, etc.) please review the following information and do not hesitate to comment on any questions or concerns that you may have.
