Lip Augmentation

Lip augmentation is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures that are being done by individuals.  Having a lip augmentation can give one a fuller lip.  Some people might just want to receive the lip augmentation to even out their lips.  In either case, in order to receive a lip augmentation you would need to receive a filler.  The fillers used for lip augmentation are Juvederm, Perlane and Restylane.  These dermal fillers are also known as hyaluronic acid.

Juvederm, Perlane and Restylane come in syringes.  Since, they come in syringes it is much easier for the Doctor to control the amount of filler one receives in each area of the lip.  These dermal fillers usually last between 3-6 months.

Having a lip augmentation has little to no side effects.  The side effects will vary among each individual.  Some of the side effects can include:

  • Some bruising
  • Redness
  • Light bleeding may occur in the area you received injections

So, is having a lip augmentation a suitable fit for you?  Scheduling a consultation with an experienced Doctor to evaluate your needs is the next best step.  During your consultation, the Doctor will go over the differences between the dermal fillers and at that time he/she will suggest which will suit you best to meet your desires.  Once you have everything all decided you can schedule your appointment to go in to get the injection.
