How to Keep Your Skin Healthy this Summer

Applying Sunscreen before going outSummer is just a couple weeks away, the beach, the park, and outdoor activities are what we all look forward to, however we need to make sure we keep our skin healthy. There are a few things that you can do to help keep your skin healthy.

The first thing one must do is apply sunscreen before going out in the sun. A tip is to make it apart of your morning routine so you don’t forget to apply it later on. If you see your skin is turning pink make sure you apply cooling ointment immediately to prevent blisters from happening. Another important step is to make sure you stay hydrated, have plenty of water and eat fruits which have a lot of water, like watermelon and berries. For women, you should apply lipstick with SPF 15 or higher. For men lip balm is a good alternative since it keeps the lips hydrated and lasts on the lips for a long time.

Always remember that the most harmful rays are between 10 am to about 4:00 pm. If you are going to be out in the sun between those times make sure to apply high SPF sunscreen, stay in the shade when possible and stay hydrated.
