A doctor can use a topical anesthetic to numb the area before performing the injections.  The results from the injections are visible almost immediately even though some swelling can be expected for a few days. Any bruising following the injections will fade within a week of the procedure.

The total price of lip fillers is different across the country. Why does the price vary? You need to take into account the amount of filler that is utilized by the doctor during the procedure, the number of lip areas that were injected and the area of the country where the patient resides. In general, the price can be anywhere from $500 to $2000 depending on all of the factors listed above.

The entire lip area doesn’t have to be treated in case you’re not sure about having lip injections. Some of the options include both lips, the middle area of the upper lip and just the bottom lip as the target for treatment. No matter how many areas of the lips you have treated, the injections need to be performed by an experienced doctor. Lower prices don’t mean you will necessarily get professional results for a lower price.

Finally, it’s important to know that the results from the injections are not permanent.  Follow-up procedures are necessary as the filler begins to dissolve naturally after 4 to 6 months. If you don’t have any follow-up injections, the lips will return to their normal size.
